Weekly Inspiration - Bo Roberts (Bo Berta)

Ladies and gentlemen, after all the computer issues I've been having (and still am), I'm very happy to once again bring you some Weekly Inspiration!  And for this week, I'm offering you American model, Bo Roberts, who also goes by Bo Berta.  From what I read about him, it seems he didn't start out looking to become a model.  He was actually a cage fighter.  Yes, a cage fighter.  I'll give you all a moment to swoon.  At one of his fights, he was spotted by a model scout, and he's since stepped away from fighting to become a model.  Now tell me there's not an m/m storyline that could come out of that!

Not long ago, Bo graced the cover of DNA magazine and was featured inside with shots done by famed photographer, David Vance, who has also worked with one of our previous Weekly guys, Leonardo Corredor.  I included some of the DNA shots below, images 3, 4, 5, 7 & 8.  I couldn't track down anything that seemed like an official website, Facebook, or Twitter for Bo, but there are pics of him all around the Net for those who'd like to check out more of him.  Enjoy!

Update and Song of the Week - "Written in the Stars" by Tinie Tempah featuring Eric Turner

I'm baaaack!  Well, for now.  Hopefully for a little longer, but that's unpredicitable at the moment since my computer is in an all out rebellion against me.  It started acting wonky about two and a half weeks ago, but this week, it's really been throwing temper tantrums.  It's freezing up on me constantly, in Word and online.  Every day, I have to re-install Word to get it to open.  I've run virus scans, malware scan, other diagnostic tests...everything comes up with nothing.  Restored to system default settings, deleted unnecessary programs, still nothing helps.  It's locking up in my email, Blogger, Facebook, Goodreads, and other pages, so if you've sent me an email lately or if it seems like I've fallen off the face of the earth, that's why.  Sorry!  I think, though, I'm closing in on the problem and have figured out a back door solution to getting online.  I'm running Google Chrome now instead of Internet Explorer, and so far, it's a lot more stable.  So, it seems it's just all the Microsoft products that are in the rebellion *sigh*

But despite the fits Word is throwing, I'm still getting a few words down.  I'm working on a new rocker story that will be offered for FREE over on the M/M Romance Group at Goodreads.  They're holding an event called Hot July Days where people can post pics and write a premise to authors, hoping an author will write a story for them.  This is the image and premise I picked up.

Premise written by the poster, Mel:
Dear Author,

These two men used to be rivals.  A (country) music star who is the perfect son in law material and a volatile rock star with an attitude.  The men have been at odds for years, the media fueling their rivalry.  But somehow, their animosity turned to tenderness.  How did this happen?

Now, dear author, I realize this set up has the potential to produce a really sappy story.  I personally hate sap and anything resembling corniness.  I hope for anger, cynicism, and explosive emotions (translating to HOT sex!).  Oh, and tats and black eyeliner.

So with that premise, I'm sure everyone who's familiar with my work can see why I picked up this story to write.  You all know I'm a sucker for musicians ;-)  Only problem is, the story is turning out way longer than I anticipated!  These two are very chatty characters!  But hopefully everyone will enjoy it.

Other things I'm working on...well, pretty much just the sequel to NATURAL INSTINCTS.  I had hoped to have the first draft finished by the end of May, but between all my computer troubles and real life not playing nice, I'm way behind where I'd like to be on it.  But no worries.  I still think it's looking like it'll still release this year.

And so, that's what's been up with me.  Now on to the Song of the Week!  For this week, I'm putting up an artist I really know nothing about, Tinie Tempah.  Other than this song, "Written in the Stars", I haven't heard any more of his work, but I've really been liking this one when I've heard it on the radio, so I figured why not share it with y'all.  I did track down Tinie Tempah's website, just haven't had time to explore it.  I think I'm going to have to look into his music a little more when I get a chance.  If anyone would like to learn more about his music, here it is:  http://www.tinietempah.com/

And even though I haven't been around for a while, you know I still have to post my don't-sue-me-message regarding the song.  I claim no ownership or rights to this song, video, imagery, lyrics, music, or anything therein.  All belongs to the rightful copyright holder(s).  Enjoy!

Song of the Week - "Misery" by Maroon 5

I've been getting haunted by Maroon 5 this week.  Seriously, nearly every time I turn on the road, they're there, and when they're not, if I wait long enough, they'll come on.  But I'm not complaining!  With a lead singer like Adam Levine, how could I?  Since he and his band seem to be everywhere I turn right now, I thought, why not give them the Song of the Week spot?  I was a little torn between this song and "Wake Up Call", so you never know, they may end up getting another spot down the road ;-)

To learn more about Maroon 5, you can head on over to their official website: http://www.maroon5.com/  And as always, here comes the don't-sue-me-message.  I claim no ownership rights to this song, video, music, lyrics, images, or anything Maroon 5.  All belong to the rightful copyright holder(s).  Enjoy!

Weekly Inspiration - Bernardo Velasco

And here we go, after missing a week, the Weekly Inspiration has returned and with it is Brazilian model, Bernardo Velasco.  And now saying that, it's hit me that he's the third Brazilian model I've put up here.  Edilson Nascimento and Alexandre Verga being the others.  Hmmm, I wonder if it's my subconscious telling me I need to polish up that short story I have with the young Brazilian guy aspiring to become a singer and actor...  I'll have to keep that in mind.

But back to Bernardo.  Some of his modeling credits include The Boy, Diesel, and Junior Magazine.  I included a few shots of him with fellow Brazilian model, Renato Ferreira, taken for Junior Magazine.  If you want see more images of the two of them together for this spread, a little Google search with both their names should bring the images right up.  Other than a few interviews, I couldn't find a whole lot of info on Bernardo, so sorry, no website, Facebook, or Twitter links for him.  And now, may you be inspired!

Interview at It's Raining Men

Hello, everyone!  I wanted to pass on to all who may be interested, I was interviewed over on the very cool blog, It's Raining Men.  It's run by some awesome authors and it's such an honor for me that they had me as a guest there.  Fellow author, Michael Mandrake, asked me some very thoughtful and fun questions, and I had a great time answering them.

If you'd like to get another peek into my writer's mind, feel welcomed to head on over by CLICKING HERE.

Song of the Week - "September" by Daughtry

I'm giving Daughtry, one of my favorite bands, the Song of the Week spot this time around, and I'm sure it won't be the last time.  Actually, I can't believe I haven't given them a spot until now!  This song, "September" appears on their last album, Leave This Town.  It's one of their gentler songs, which is one of the things I like about them.  They can rock hard or slow things down, and sound great doing both.  If you'd like to check out more by them or see what they're up to, here's the link to their official website: http://www.daughtryofficial.com/us/home

As always, I claim no ownership to this video, song, images, music, or Daughtry.  All belongs to their rightful copyright holder(s).  Enjoy!

New Release: BLACK HEART DOWN

So a few hours ago I posted my writing update here for everyone and said the latest my new m/m rock star novel, BLACK HEART DOWN would be this Thursday, maybe even sooner.  Guess what's happened in the few hours since then?  It went live at MLR Press!  My amazing editor, who worked very hard along with me on it, turned in the final files today and MLR got it up.  Have I said lately how much I love my publisher?  Because I do!  It's currently available at MLR in ebook (pdf, prc, and epub formats), and soon will be at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, AllRomance Ebooks, and many more.  Along with in print.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, I'm thrilled to welcome to the stage, Kyler Christenson, Robbie Russo, and Black Heart Down!  Woo hoo!  I'm ecstatic to see these guys go live.  They're a little different from my other couples, grittier and rougher around the edges, but they also have some friends that you may recognize if you've read the other Conquest books ;-)  I hope everyone who decides to spend some time with the BHD guys will enjoy them!

To view the ebook at MLR Press, please CLICK HERE.

Blurb:
For Robbie Russo, only one man has ever owned his heart, Kyler Christenson.  The years at each other’s sides never diminished his love for him, but with the rise to fame in their rock band, Black Heart Down, more than a few challenges hindered their relationship.  Now, he’s reached a crossroads, either he’ll have all of Kyler, or he’ll walk away from everything they’ve built together.

Kyler may be fearless on stage, but if there’s one thing to send his heart crashing down, it’s losing Robbie.  When Robbie delivers his ultimatum, Kyler’s willing to do what it takes for things to work.  But change doesn’t happen quickly, and when he makes a terrible mistake, all their history together might not be enough to save their future.

S.J. Update

Hey, everyone!  I thought it was about time I gave a little update on what I've been up to lately, especially since my regular visitors here have probably noticed I haven't been the most efficient in getting up Weekly Inspiration and Song of the Week posts.  Things have been pretty crazy for me the past few weeks, both on the writing front and on the personal life one, but I do have some good news on the writing side.

First, the big news.  This week I'm going to have a new release.  It's one of the reasons I haven't been getting the regular posts up, my editor and I have been working very hard to get it ready to come out no later than this Thursday, May 5th at MLR Press and maybe sooner.  And what is this new release?  Why, it'll be my next m/m rock star novel, BLACK HEART DOWN.  Woo hoo!  I'm really excited to bring the BHD guys to the stage, along with some friends of theirs from another certain band ;-)  For those who'd like to see, I've also put up an excerpt from BHD on my website: http://www.sjfrost.com/

I'm sure everyone who knows how slow of a writer I am are surprised by me having two novel releases out so close with NATURAL INSTINCTS and now BLACK HEART DOWN.  Between my and my editor's schedules, it just sort of worked out that way.  I'm by no means any faster of a writer!  So, my next release after BHD probably won't be until late summer/early fall.

And what will that release be?  At this moment, I'm thinking it'll be more vampires in the sequel to NATURAL INSTINCTS.  I'm currently working on the first draft of that one.  Now that BHD is getting ready to release, I'll be giving the vampires my full attention and don't plan on starting any new projects until they're handed into my editor.  After they're finished, I'm not entirely sure what I'll work on next, but maybe my classical violinist and rock drummer, who will be from an all new band of Scottish kilt wearing rockers.

So that's what I've been up to.  Hope it all sounds good to everyone!  Things should be getting a little more back to normal here this week with the regular posts.  Thank you all so much for your support!
