Blurb: FEELING THE RHYTHM

Hey guys and girls! A few days ago, I posted an update on all I've been up to. As many of you know, I finished the 7th book in the Conquest series, FEELING THE RHYTHM. And yep, this is the story of Conquest's drummer, Brad Delfini. I've turned everything over the MLR Press, the manuscript is now in my editor's hands, the cover art request is in, and I submitted the blurb.

Usually, I reveal the cover art and blurb for an upcoming release at the same time. But with this one, I've been debating on sharing the blurb early, since I know a few folks have been waiting on this book. After chatting on Facebook with a friend, I decided to go ahead and share it! Now, the blurb will tell you who Brad's love interest is. Even though I think many have an idea of who that person is, if you don't want to know until the book comes out, I wanted to give fair warning.

For a release date, my editor and I will try our best to have the book out this year, and we're looking toward a December release at the moment. Once I have cover art, I'll share that, too :-)

And so, here it is; the blurb for FEELING THE RHYTHM!

Blurb:

Brad Delfini once had the world in his hands, but misfortune and bad decisions showed him just how quickly the spotlight can go dark. For years, he was struggling to get by, when a fateful phone call brought him to famed rock band, Conquest. Since becoming their drummer, he’s hit the top of fame again and he has all he could ever want. Except for one thing. As Conquest’s world tour draws to the close, that missed chance leaves him filled with regrets.

Remmy Laurent has been a roadie since he graduated high school, but years of being on the move have worn him down. He decides it’s time to quit and bring some stability into his life. He just wanted to finish out this one last tour with his favorite band; Conquest. It hasn’t been an easy tour, for many reasons, but most of all because no matter how hard he tried to deny it, he lost his heart to a man who he thinks barely knows he exists.

When the last concert is played, Brad and Remmy both believe they’ll never see each other again, but a little friendly intervention brings them together once more. As they begin to know each other in a whole new way, Brad must somehow make peace with his past if he and Remmy are going to have a future.

  4. I am so looking forward to this book. Just finished Heartstrings recently and enjoyed catching up with all the characters again. I'm guessing that Brad will have some difficult times ahead in this book so will be eagerly waiting to find out what happens :). I would be so happy to read a bit more about Evan and his final album plus Tanner who so deserves a special someone in his life! Thanks for these wonderful books. Cheers, Kath.

    1. Hey, Kath! Thank you so much! That's wonderful hearing you've enjoyed the Conquest books, and that you liked Heartstrings. I appreciate you reading them! I do have plans for a little bit more with the series, Tanner getting a story being one. Not sure if the books after Feeling the Rhythm will be as long as most of the others have been, or more along the lines of novella length, but Brad's story won't be the finale :-) Thank you again for reading the stories and looking forward to this next one!

  6. Hey SJ,

Thanks for sharing the blurb. I've been waiting for Brad's story since Jesse made Evan tell how he had hit on him in an epic fail. I agree with Kath- it would be great to read a novella about Evan's final album. And if you are thinking about novellas, I'm lobbying for Jeremy Kane to get a man. Plus I'm waiting eagerly for the expansion on a Little Bit Country. Basically, whatever you write I will happily read.

    1. You're so sweet *hugs* Thank you for looking forward to any of my stories! And you're very welcome for the blurb! I figured for as long as folks have been waiting to hear something about Brad, offering out this was the least I could do until I'm able to give more :-)

And now we have two votes for a novella about Evan's final album! I've had some ideas brewing, so I'll have to really think on them for it. You know, I haven't thought about doing a story for Jeremy, but he's a sweet guy. Maybe I'll have to take a second look at him :-) I've got the expanded version of A Little Bit Country on my list to work on for 2013. I'd really like to get that one done and out for everyone then.

As things are shaping up right now, I think Feeling the Rhythm will be my last 2012 release, then Instincts 4 will be my first 2013 release, probably around March. After that, I have no clue, lol! But with my current pattern of rockers, vamps, rockers, vamps, it'll probably be more rockers :D

Thank you again, so incredibly much, for looking forward to my stories!

    2. Excited to hear that you have some ideas for Evan and his last album. Thank you! I know a lot revolves around Jesse taking the lead in the books but I for one would love to read about Jesse being the person standing back stage holding the water bottles and towels, not being the "star" and to see the relationship from the other perspective. Although I would probably still read about these guys or the other Conquest characters if they were discussing who's turn it was to cook dinner or if the trash had been taken out! Thanks again, Kath.

    3. Thank you, Kath! I have indeed been pondering on that with Evan's last album. It'll be a ways down the road before I can get to it, and there are still a lot of what-ifs with it, but it has been on my mind. I think Jesse would be good in a supporting role, since he loves Evan even more than the spotlight :-) But I guess we'll see what happens when the time comes that I sit down to work on it! It makes me so happy you enjoy reading about them that much! Thank you again!

  7. Yes,yes, yes - finally! It feels like I have been waiting for this book forever ... It´s going to be great like all your books usually are!
On another note: Loving Instincts was a fantastic read too and am glad that there will be more in this series. You have created so many amazing characters (Carl, Renart, Troy to name but a few) that I want them all to have their HEA.
Keep up the good work !!!

And thank you about Loving Instincts! I'm glad you liked it and would like to see more with the guys! Carl is in the works now, and I've been thinking on Renart, Troy, and possibly a novella-ish sized story with Ryunosuke and Daniel again. Thank you again, very much, for reading my books!

  8. Now I know what I want for Christmas!!! I can't wait to finally read Brad's story. LOL, it feels like I've been waiting for years to read his and Remmy's book, but it has only been some months since I've first discovered the Conquest series. I am currently rereading the books and the free stories on your website for the 4th time.

    1. lol! Thank you much, Gabriella! I'll do my best to have Feeling the Rhythm out in time for Christmas! I can say to me, it does feel like it was in the works for years! There probably is about a year or so behind writing it. I'd have to go back to the very first original draft and see what the creation date was. It makes me so happy hearing you've enjoyed the books and free reads enough to re-read them that much :D That's such a wonderful compliment, and I thank you so very much! Here's hoping you'll enjoy Brad and Remmy's story just as much!
