Thank you, 2013! Welcome, 2014!

Another year has come to an end. While I'm not entirely sure where all the time went in 2013, I know I accomplished a lot on the writing front. I managed to hit a goal I've wanted to hit for a long time, releasing four novels in one year! And with those, I had a short novel/long novella release, too! Those stories were:

That's a heck of a lot of words that got published for me! And behind the scenes, I've been working on other stories for 2014. Two are now in the hands of my editor at Ellora's Cave:

  • Vampire Prince - currently 72,000 words
  • Love and Pornography (title subject to change. It's pending approval to see if it would be able to pass through Amazon.com's censoring) - currently 60,000 words

And one more heading to my MLR Press editor in the very near future:

  • Knight of Fire, Terra Series #2 - currently sitting at 89,000 words. But I'm revising this one now, trying to tighten it up so that word count will definitely be changing.

2013 was a fantastic writing year for me. It brought about a new series with To the Other Side in the world of Terra. It also brought me new opportunities with a new publisher, Ellora's Cave. It was certainly my biggest year for book releases. It took a lot of time, much dedication, a few sacrifices, but I'm incredibly proud of each and every book I wrote and grateful to everyone who took the time to read them.

So, what will 2014 bring for my stories? Well, I've got a few in the works. The three I mentioned above, but also more to be written. Of the ones I hope to write in the new year, they are:

  • A novella with Brandon and Shunichi from the Conquest series
  • A novella or novel with Tanner Hartell, lead singer of Lions Rampant from the book Heartstrings...also Conquest series.
  • Terra series #3
  • A contemporary set around a horse rescuer and a Thoroughbred breeder.

There will be...could be...others, too. After the amount of releases I had in 2013, this schedule probably seems a bit lighter, and it is. I'm very happy I finally hit my goal of having so many releases in a year, but I think I'm ready to slow down a bit now :-) Maybe. We'll see. It all depends on the demands of life and of course, the demands of my characters.

And so, my dear readers and friends, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being part of my journey through this past year. I hope in 2014, we can keep having fun together as I introduce you to some new friends of mine in my stories and we visit with some familiar ones. Happy New Year to you all!

  1. I'm looking forward to all you have scheduled for 2014 and I hope you get to make Tanner's story a novel. I really love your Conquest series. Also, just finished To the Other Side and it was really good also. There were a lot of secondary characters that would have a good story to tell.

    1. Thank you so much for looking forward to my stories coming in 2014! I greatly appreciate that!

I'm hoping Tanner's story turns out to be a novel, too. I'll have to see what happens once I get into writing his story, how chatty he'll be and how much trouble he'll get himself into ;-)

And thank you for reading To the Other Side! I'm very happy you enjoyed it! I do plan to write some more stories for those secondary characters; Torran, Zain, Lark, Aleric. It won't be long before I turn Book 2 over to my editor, which is Torran's story, so hopefully it'll get a late winter/early spring release.

  3. Happy New Year, joy and health and a lot of new ideas for great books to come.

I can't wait for more books in the Terra series. Btw, I love the Terra pictures form the December 2013 post. They're great. Esp Wynn's and Zain's pics.

I second Betty F. and hope you make T&T's story a novel. Please.
LOL, I hope that T&T are really chatty.

    1. Thank you for the kind New Year wishes! I hope 2014 is a fantastic and happy year for you, too.

And I'm happy you liked the pictures of my Terra inspiration :D The second book has taken me a long time, but I've loved writing it and I already can't wait to get into the next one.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed T&T's book will become a novel. We'll have to see what happens when I open the floodgates and let Tanner come out, lol! Brandon and Shunichi will be first, then on to T&T!

And many thanks again to you for looking forward to more in Terra and my other books. I'm happy to hear that and appreciate it very, very much :-) I can understand, too, looking forward to a certain bratty singer's story. Tanner's a fun boy, even if he can be challenging a times, lol!

    1. Thank you very much for the thoughtful wish :-) I hope that, too! I'm feeling ready to slow down and take some recharging time. I'm going to wrap up Terra #2, then once it's turned in, I'm going to take as long of a break as I can. Hope you have a fantastic 2014!
