Weekly Inspiration - Steven Retchless

It's been so long since I've posted some Weekly Inspiration, I thought I'd do something a little different this time around.  Normally I just put up pics, but this week, I thought I'd give you guys some videos of a beautifully talented male pole dancer, Steven Retchless.

I have to admit, I've been addicted to the TV show, America's Got Talent, this season, and he's a big part of why.  His performances are absolutely captivating!  Even more, I think it's wonderful to see a man so confident in himself and his sexuality.  When he dances, his performances are artistic, sensual, and all around beautiful.  Not to mention his incredible body strength and flexibility.  I was so happy to see him make it into the semi-finals of the show, and I'm pulling for him to win it all.  I'll be voting for him!  But even if he doesn't win, I think he's done a lot in showing how sexy a man can be when he embraces who he is.

Hope you all enjoy his dancing as much as I do!  Of the videos, I think the last one is my favorite.  Oh, and just ignore Piers Morgan.  His comments aren't worth attention and if I could've found clips without him, I would've posted those to not give him further voice.  But the talent Steven exudes by far outweighs anything Piers has to say, in my humble opinion.  If you'd like to learn more about Steven Retchless, here is his website, http://www.sretchless.com/FACEBOOK, and YouTube Channel.

And just a quick don't sue me message, I claim no ownership to these videos, imagery, or music.  All belongs to the rightful copyright holder(s).  And these videos are curtesy of the America's Got Talent website. Enjoy!

News & Reviews

See?  I really haven't fallen off the face of the earth!  I know it seems like I haven't been around much here, or any of my usual haunts lately, and I apologize for that.  My personal life has been challenging my author life for a while now, but hopefully soon things will balance out.  Despite those challenges, I'm writing whenever I get the chance, and I'm happy to say I've finished another book.  Woo hoo!  This is the sequel to my vampires in NATURAL INSTINCTS.  It's title will be ENDURING INSTINCTS, and once I write the blurb, I'll post it here for you guys.  That'll probably be a little while yet before I have that finished, though.  I still have to put one more coat of polish on the manuscript before sending it to my editor at MLR Press, then I'll get working on the blurb.

Along with that, I'm ecstatic to announce that NATURAL INSTINCTS received a very
high honor.  It was given a Golden Blush Award at Literary Nymphs!  I can't even begin to describe how flattered I am, and I'm so thankful to the reviewer, Chocolate Minx, for the beautiful review.  For those who'd like to see the review, here's the link: http://literarynymphsreviewsonly.blogspot.com/2011/07/natural-instincts.html

Also, BLACK HEART DOWN earned 4 out of 5 stars at Jessewave!  I was happy to see this!  Many thanks to the reviewer, Lasha, for her great review!  If you'd like to see it, here's the link: http://www.reviewsbyjessewave.com/2011/07/20/black-heart-down-conquest-5/

And that's not all for the rocker boys.  BLACK HEART DOWN also earned a very high honor.  It was named a Joyfully Recommended Read at Joyfully Reviewed!  Hooray!  I don't even know where to begin to express how thrilled I am!  I just have to give my thanks to the reviewer, Lisa, for writing up the wonderful review!  And here's the link to that one: http://www.joyfullyreviewed.com/recommended-reviews/july-2011-recommended-reads/black-heart-down-by-s-j-frost

So as you can imagine, I'm super happy bouncy with these reviews!  I can't express my thanks and appreciation enough to the reviewers who took the time to read my books and write these reviews.  They definitely gave me a big smile :D

A Little Bit Country - FREE READ!!!

Here I am again with more fun news!  As some of you may know, the M/M Romance Group on Goodreads is hosting a special event called Hot Summer Days.  Originally it was called Hot July Days, but so many stories were submitted for the event, July couldn't hold them all!  And how many stories, you ask?  Last I saw, it was 113!  Yeah, 113 m/m romance stories being offered for FREE!  With new stories posted everyday!  How cool is that?  I say VERY!

And, today my story went up.  Yay!  I talked about it here a while back.  The story is titled "A Little Bit Country", and it features a rocker with an attitude and a good boy country singer.  Two rivals and total opposites who strive to find a common ground so they can express what's in their hearts for each other.

To access the story, here's a direct link: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/586465-sj-frost-a-little-bit-country-7-9

The only catch is, you have to be a member of the group to read it.  To be a member, all you have to do is have a Goodreads account, which is free, then go to the M/M Romance Group's page (http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/20149.M_M_Romance) and click to become a member.  One of the moderators will approve you (providing you are 18 years-old or over), and then you're in!  You'll have access to all 113 free stories!  And really, this group is absolutely fantastic.  Over 3,200 fans and authors of m/m romance gather there to play, so if you're looking for a place where you can connect with readers and authors in the genre you enjoy, this could be the place for you.

I hope everyone who reads about Ash and Jackson in "A Little Bit Country", enjoys their story!

Reviews, Reviews, Reviews!

Hello, everyone!  I'm working on getting caught up on a lot of writing business today, and part of that is sharing with all of you some fantastic reviews I've gotten lately.  Just recently on Fallen Angel Reviews, four of my Conquest books, CONQUEST, NO FEAR, KEYS TO LOVE, and BLACK HEART DOWN, were all reviewed.  Each of the received 5 out of 5 angels, and earned being Recommended Reads.  Woo hoo!  Thank you so much to the reviewer, Teresa, for taking the time to read the books and write up such wonderful reviews!  For any who would like to see the reviews, here are the links:

CONQUEST: http://fallenangelreviews.com/2011/June/teresa-conquest.htm
NO FEAR: http://fallenangelreviews.com/2011/June/teresa-nofear.htm
KEYS TO LOVE: http://fallenangelreviews.com/2011/June/teresa-keystolove.htm
BLACK HEART DOWN: http://fallenangelreviews.com/2011/June/teresa-blackheartdown.htm

Fallen Angel Reviews is a fantastic review site overall and well worth checking out for other well written reviews.

Also, I happened to see that my m/m vampire novel, NATURAL INSTINCTS, was reviewed at Top2Bottom Reviews, along with BLACK HEART DOWN.  Both got wonderful reviews with NATURAL INSTINCTS earning a mark of 5 out of 5, and BHD receiving 4.5 out of 5.  Many thanks to the reviewers there, Michele and Lisa, for reading the books and writing up these great reviews!  Here are the links to those:

BLACK HEART DOWN: http://top2bottomreviews.wordpress.com/2011/05/31/black-heart-down-by-s-j-frost/

Top2Bottom Reviews is another awesome review site, focused especially toward gay romance.  So if m/m is what you mainly like to read, definitely be sure to check them out for the dish on hot books in the genre.

I guess that about covers it in review news for me.  And can I just say one more time...Woo hoo!  I'm just so incredibly happy with these reviews and grateful to all the reviewers who wrote them.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Weekly Inspiration - Independence Day Edition

Wow, it feels like it's been forever since I posted some inspiration.  Probably because it has.  Apologies!  Life has taken some crazy twists these past few weeks, and I've also been busy trying to wrap up the sequel to NATURAL INSTINCTS.  The good news is, it's finished!  Well, the first draft is, at least.  It's still very rough and needs a whole lot of revising, but at least I have a completed draft to build off of.

Now, onto the inspiration!  With it being the 4th of July, I thought it would only be right to do a special Independence Day Edition of Weekly Inspiration.  It's good to be patriotic ;-)  But in all seriousness, I do want to give send out love and gratitude to the U.S. military men and women, currently serving and who have served.  You truly are the heart of this country, and our freedoms only exist because your bravery and sacrifices defending them.  Thank you for all you do.

Here's wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th of July!
